The library offers free access to the Internet for users with the objective of gathering information, studying, or conducting research. The service is designed as a reference for available resources on the Web that are related to the Spanish and Latin American language and culture.
Library users have two computers with access to the Internet at their disposal.
Wireless internet service (WI-FI) is designed to increase free public access points to the Internet and relieve the current public service offered by the library. Users can connect to the Internet from either their mobile devices (laptop, personal digital assistants (PDA), third generation mobile phone, laptop, Mac, etc)
In order to use the service you must have a properly configured network card and have the library card.
Access conditions
The connection time should not exceed 30 minutes.
The use of internet in the library is restricted to sites related to Spanish & Hispanic language and culture..
Access to programs with live chat or games is prohibited, as well as installing programs, modifying the start page, or changing the computer’s configuration. The user can use the programs (Word, Excel, etc...) Installed on your computer during the session (it is not allowed to record on the hard disk). Printing pages: 0.10 fils / page (maximum 30 pages).
It is not allowed the use of software, diskettes, CD-ROM, or to download files or to save files on the hard disk. Upon the request of the library’s users, the library shall provide, upon payment, diskettes, CD-Rom, DVD-Rom to record electronic information gathered through the Internet. For security reasons, each session on the Internet requires purchase of a new floppy disk.
Children under 14 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The user is required to read any information regarding the copyright to appear on the results of their consultations. Some of the materials on the Internet may be protected by copyright law.
The library is not responsible for any of the information that is accessed by users from the computers that are in the library.
The library staff reserves the right to terminate any Internet access sessions at their discretion when appropriate and to cancel the user’s card for violations of the rules of Internet use in the library.
